Coach Oscar

Oscar Mota is a decorated former soccer player with an extensive playing career. As a young teenager, Oscar was recruited to play with the LA Galaxy Academy and was given the opportunity to play across the majority of the US and parts of Mexico and Argentina. Later in his career, Oscar was given a scholarship to play soccer and earn his degree at California State University, San Bernardino. Oscar spent the last year at CSUSB as an Assistant coach to the men’s soccer team.

In addition to his experience within the game, Oscar also worked as a sports executive for the professional MLS and NWLS sides, Houston Dynamo and Houston Dash. At the Dynamo and Dash, Oscar formed a major part of the Community Engagement team and was an essential part of the Dynamo and Dash charity programs. During his time in Houston, Oscar brought a wealth of first-hand soccer experience to bring a fresh perspective to the ongoing programs in such a way that was able to connect more intimately with the demographic within the community. Previous to his experience with the Dynamo and Dash, Oscar was the Community Relations Manager for the MASL side, Ontario Fury/Empire Strykers. During his time there, Oscar developed a health conscious program called Health’s A Kick that fused the beautiful sport of soccer with the importance of eating well, exercising regularly, and working hard at school. Oscar also organized after-school systemic programming in local schools to share The Beautiful Game with the community.
